Rachael Dunlop

Rachael Dunlop is an award-winning writer of flash fiction and short stories. She has won or been shortlisted for numerous competitions, including: the NYCMidnight Flash Fiction Challenge; Flash 500; The Retreat West Short Story Competition; Bath Flash Award; both The Scottish Arts Club Short Story Award and the Flash Fiction Award; The Bath Short Story Award; and The Anton Chekhov Prize for Very Short Fiction. She was highly commended in the final Costa Short Story Awards in 2021.

She has several novels ‘in progress’ and has been longlisted for both the Bath Novel Award (twice), and the Cheshire Novel Award, and was a finalist in the Jericho Writers Friday Night Live Competition. In 2021 she received the Bath Novel Award Cornerstones Longlist Prize for the most promising longlisted manuscript.

She is a resident competition judge at NYCMidnight and runs workshops for flash fiction writers in the North East of England, where she currently lives.
